The March Room Refresh Challenge

Sometimes you know a room is feeling stale and unexciting – but you don’t know exactly how to start.

Spring Room Refresh Challenge: main bath wall with hooks

Main Floor Bath

Boring and lacking function. We installed the hooks this past weekend. Besides hanging the shower curtain when we moved in, we haven’t done much else with this room.

I am going to walk you through refreshing a room from start to finish in just THREE weeks. I am going to be showing you next week how I did this ourselves as I tackle the other side of our main floor bath (not pictured), as well as giving you advice, tips, and a $100 prize! Want to win? Want to create a room you love?

Spring Room Refresh Challenge Details:

Dates: This is a 3 week Challenge. Starting Monday February 28 ending Sunday March 20. You don’t necessarily need to start on time, but all entries must be submitted by Sunday March 20th to win.

What do you mean by “Refresh”?

Makeover sounds scary and expensive. But refresh – this can be big and fabulous, or a simple refresh to make you fall in love with a space again. Pick a room in your home that you’re tired of. How about a fresh coat of paint and new bedding, or new drapes and throw pillows… or change everything. Tile the walls. The level you take this to is totally up to you and your needs.

How it works:

For the 3 weeks of the challenge I will be posting weekly blog posts with tips and tricks for refreshing your space. To take part in the challenge, you will need to join the Facebook group  and post a photo of the  finished room and a quick story. No need to make this fancy- just share the after shot if that’s all you want to share!

I will pick my top 5 rooms and the readers and followers will vote on my Instagram account!

Prize: The winner of the challenge with the most fun room refresh will win $100!

*Rules: Must post your finished room by March 20th.

Tools you need to get started:

Any good design begins with a plan. We encourage you to download your copy of the ULTIMATE INTERIOR DESIGN STARTER KIT to help you organize your project.

And be sure to create a mood board of your room refresh before you get started. I wrote a blog post walking you through step by step on how I create mood boards using the free app; canva.com. Please be sure to check that out here. We would love for you to share your mood boards inside the facebook group.

Room Refresh Challenge Overview and info

Execution and the Refresh Process

Because this is only a three week challenge, remember to utilize the two tools – Interior design starter kit  and Mood Board Tutorial – to set your order of operations.  One thing I love about doing a project with a quick time restraint is it really forces you to stay excited and be creative!

Over the next three weeks , I will be sharing my main floor bath that I refreshed with this challenge in mind. I will show you how I used my interior design starter kit and what my Mood Board looks like for my space. If I was able to do this in 3 weeks time- you can do this too!

I am  SO excited to have you all join in on this amazing project! I can’t wait to see the progress and the final results from you! My hope is that as you are doing these rooms I can be there to help you. For the next few weeks I am going to be really hands on with giving you advice via LIVE sessions inside the FB group and I can’t wait to see your posts to the group and to see your progress.

Let’s get going!
