The Fall Issue of Tides & Time: A Season to Settle In

Where the Sea Meets Home | Fall 2026

There's something about autumn that makes me want to slow down and settle in.

Maybe it's the cooler mornings, the changing leaves, or the familiar comfort of pulling on a favourite cable-knit sweater. Perhaps it's the return to Sunday dinners, a pot of soup simmering on the stove, or the simple pleasure of lighting a candle as the evenings grow shorter.

Whatever it is, fall has a way of reminding us that there's beauty in the everyday.

And that's exactly what I wanted to capture in the latest issue of Tides & Time: Where the Sea Meets Home.

Four Seasons of Tides & Time

This fall issue marks a little milestone. It's our fourth edition, which means we've now travelled through all four seasons together.

What began as a creative project has become something I genuinely look forward to sharing. It's a place where I can bring together my love of interior design, coastal living, gardening, good food, books, and all those little things that make a life feel well-lived.

Growing up in Newfoundland and now making my home in Nova Scotia, the changing seasons have always been part of the rhythm of my life. Each one brings its own traditions, familiar comforts, and reasons to appreciate where we live.

And while I love the freshness of spring and the long, easy days of summer, there's something especially comforting about autumn.

Inside the Fall Issue

This edition is all about turning inward and embracing the comforts of home.

In the Cottage Journal, we're exploring the warmth of autumn interiors, inviting spaces, and the colours and textures that make a home feel collected, comfortable, and lived in. Think soft neutrals, rich autumn hues, natural materials, and rooms that practically invite you to curl up with a book.

In the Garden, we're celebrating the last of the harvest. One of my favourite things to do is freeze Roma tomatoes so I can enjoy homemade roasted tomato soup throughout the colder months. Paired with a grilled cheese sandwich, it makes the perfect Saturday lunch.

Around the Table, I'm sharing some of the meals that feel especially comforting this time of year, including a hearty beef stew and Yorkshire puddings. These are the kinds of meals that encourage everyone to linger at the table just a little longer.

You'll also find inspiration for fall weekends, cozy corners, seasonal fashion, and a few books worth adding to your reading list.

And, of course, there are the quieter reflections woven throughout the pages. Those moments when we remember that a beautiful life isn't necessarily about doing more, buying more, or filling every hour. Sometimes it's simply about appreciating what's already around us.

A Home That Changes With the Seasons

As an interior decorator, I've always believed that our homes should reflect how we actually live.

That doesn't mean completely redecorating with every season.

Sometimes welcoming autumn is as simple as bringing out a heavier throw, changing the cushions, filling a vase with branches from the garden, or spending a little more time in a room that receives the afternoon sun.

It's about creating spaces that feel welcoming, comfortable, and personal.

I love a beautifully designed room, but I love it even more when that room is being lived in. A book left open on the side table, a pair of boots by the door, or the smell of something wonderful cooking in the kitchen.

Those are the details that make a house a home.

A Little Invitation to Slow Down

My hope for Tides & Time has always been that it feels less like a traditional magazine and more like a visit with a friend.

Something you can enjoy with your morning coffee, on a quiet Sunday afternoon, or curled up on the sofa when you have a little time to yourself.

There's no rush to get through it. No long list of things you need to do or buy.

Just a little inspiration for your home, your table, your garden, and the season you're in.

As we close out our first full year of Tides & Time, I want to say thank you to everyone who has taken the time to read an issue, share a kind word, or pass it along to a friend.

I'm already looking forward to what the next four seasons will bring.

Until then, I hope this fall finds you enjoying the simple comforts of home.

Pour yourself something warm, find your favourite cozy spot, and enjoy the Fall 2026 issue of Tides & Time.

With warmth,

Marsha
